I Occupy Space

Lately I’ve been using a Linux distro named CrunchBang. This distro seems like the perfect fit for me. I like Openbox, and I like Ubuntu. CrunchBang is Openbox and Ubuntu. What’s not to like?

And now for the obligatory screenshots:

The only things that irked me somewhat were the default Openbox menu and the file manager. The problem with the menu is that the entries where way too long, stuff like “GPicView Image Viewer” and “Abiword Word Processor”, so I shortened them. I suppose it’s a usability thing. And the default file manager, Thunar, was something I had to get used to. My preference for a file manager is usually pcmanfm, but after using Thunar for awhile, I’ve grown to like it.

One thing I like was that it came bundled with my favorite terminal emulator, Terminator. I’ve used Sakura in the past, and liked it, but it needs to be compiled on Ubuntu, and I’m just too lazy.

Another plus, the default theme isn’t brown. I’ve never minded Ubuntu’s default colors, but I do like gray and black better.

It’s all good.
